Justification:
I chose The Gross Clinic by Thomas Eakins and Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix because both of them depict influential and crucial moments in history. Their styles and periods, romanticism and realism, also contrast each other very well, and I believe comparing both these styles will be informative and thought-provoking. The contrasts between paintings will offer a good perspective on these time periods and make for an interesting topic to write about.
