Close reading is an in-depth critical look at a text to better understand it. For this assignment, you will complete a close reading critique of a source for your research paper.
Locate a source for your research paper and provide an APA reference and write a 500-to-750-word close-reading critique of your source. Include or address the following questions in your critique:
• Categorize and Define Relevance. Categorize the source by the tier system discussed in “Secondary Sources in Their Natural Habitats” from Writing in College (Guptill, 2023). Describe the source\’s relevance to your research topic.
• Assess the credibility. Describe the author\’s credentials, the significance of the date, the publication process, and any publication information.
• Describe the main argument of the article. Analyze the source and evaluate the clarity of its argument. Identify any biases. Critically assess the strength of the source.
• Summarize. Provide a one-paragraph summary of the article.
An in-text citation and APA reference are required.
