Overview
In this assignment, you will continue with the organization and position you chose in Week 3. You will use your business acumen, critical thinking and decision-making skills, and HR knowledge to improve the organization’s performance evaluation process.
Scenario
Imagine you work as an HR professional for the company you selected in the first assignment in Week 3. The company has been having issues with their current performance evaluation process. Some issues include the data collection process, proper documentation, and making appropriate decisions on employee performance.
Your manager has asked you to evaluate and update their current performance evaluation tool and process and then present your update as a slide presentation in a training module to a group of new supervisors in your organization. As an example, in your training module, you will apply the revised or improved evaluation process to the specific job you created in the Week 3 assignment.
Preparation
Based on what you know about performance evaluations, use the Strayer library or the Internet to research and then select a performance evaluation tool and supporting process that you believe is best suited for your company.
The assignment includes a PowerPoint template (linked below) to guide your work. Download the template to your computer and rename the file by adding your first initial and last name. For example, cf_HRM500_W06_assignment_template_rjones_pptx. Use this downloaded version to create your presentation.

Instructions
Using the Week 6 Assignment Template [PPTX] Download Week 6 Assignment Template [PPTX], create a 15–18 slide presentation in which you complete the following:
- Explain the benefits of using performance evaluations.
- Assess the existing performance evaluation used in the organization.
- Create a sample of the performance evaluation tool selected for the company.
- Justify the selection of the performance evaluation tool.
- Develop a detailed, step-by-step description of the evaluation process.
- Use at least three sources to support your writing. You may include your textbook as a source. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source within your assignment at least once. For help with research, writing, and citation, access the library or review library guides.
Your presentation must also meet these requirements:
- Include a cover slide, and a sources slide. These slides do not count toward the slideshow presentation total.
- Follow SWS formatting guidelines for PowerPoints or slideshows.
- Create a coherent, clear, and organized presentation for a professional audience, using substantive content and appropriate and effective images, colors, and font styles and sizes.
- Create speaker notes for each slide of the presentation that demonstrates an understanding of the intended audience and familiarity with the material.
