Preliminary exploration— Clearly state why you chose this style of street food. How did you find this location? On-site Field Notes, a copy or photo of the receipt is required — Make observations about your entire experience. What, if anything, is interesting and different to you? (Location, type of food truck vendor, trailer, the aroma of foods, service protocol, communication, etc.) Photographs— Take relevant photos of your ethnic food experience. (food type, the decor of the truck or vendor, etc.)*Don’t forget a picture of the receipt for proof of your brief investigation Interview w/ Chef/Owner/Operator.
Please look a little deeper for your 2nd presentation by asking these three specific questions in Bold to the owner/chef/cook; 1. Interview question – what are some of the struggles-challenges as a street food operator ( sourcing food ingredients, hiring reliable staff, crime such as vandalism, harassment) ? 2. Do you have or are you thinking of opening a second street food business and where would that be? 3 what makes your concept unique from other street food vendors and would they consider trying newer food menu items as a menu pop-up idea?
Feel free to ask other questions different from your first street food vendor experience.
Please create a PowerPoint 5-6 slides is plenty of your post investigative research experience, be creative with your slides, you can add videos, photos as much information about the street food business that you think is relevant to the course. Each student will have approximately 5- 10 minutes to present followed by class Q&A.
Also, please be mindful of your surroundings, and other customers, the chef/cooks, be polite, and introduce yourself as a student taking this course. Please invite the Street Food vendor to the class.
