Write an 8–12 page research paper (eight to twelve pages of narrative) on any human resources topic that allows for the application of strategic human resources management. The paper needs to be written in a way that displays your understanding of strategic human resource management in the broadest sense, and how it fits with overall organizational strategy. Topics may include (but are not limited to) any one of the following: performance management, employee engagement, managing generations, general compensation practices, sales compensation practices, executive compensation practices, global HR in the context of expats and repats within multinational firms, labor relations, staffing/recruitment/on-boarding, retention of staff, employee benefits in the total sense, employee healthcare benefits, outsourcing/off-shoring of work, government relations concerning the private workplace, employee-management communications, employee turnover, diversity, etc. Your final paper should have a minimum of eight references outside of the course readings.
