Workloads and insufficient staff.

Workloads and insufficient staff.

Nurse burnout has been an issue in healthcare for a long time. Nurses are typically burnt out from high Workloads and insufficient staff. This has led to high turnover rates, low job satisfaction, and poorer patient outcomes (Galanis et al., 2023). As a nurse administrator, reducing nurse burnout is important to improving my staff\\\’s well-being, retaining nurses, and making sure my staff provides quality care. Combined with Kotter’s 8-step change model, transformational leadership can help create a system that will tackle this problem.

Transformational leadership is a style that inspires and motivates the team to work together towards shared goals. Transformational leaders have to be role models. They set clear expectations, encourage innovation, and support each team member individually (Pattison & Corser, 2023). To work on the issue of nurse burnout, transformational leaders have to create an environment where nurses feel valued, supported, and empowered to provide the best possible care (Jankelová & Joniaková, 2021). This leadership approach allows a nurse administrator to deal with complex healthcare challenges that lead to meaningful and sustainable change.
