Background Theory

· This theory is also known as the “historical perspective” theory was discovered by Sigmund Feud.

· The theory was built from three techniques; free association, dream analysis and transference

· Jean Piaget became intrigued by the reason why kids gave wrong answers to simple questions.

· He believed that the wrong answers given by kids symbolized differences between kids’ and adult thinking.

· He therefore came up with a systematic cognitive study in 1936.
