The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has had many achievements throughout the past 20th Century that was seen through the increased life expectancy of the Americans. According to CDC, the life expectancy is 78.8 years currently. One of the achievements is credited to the reduction of infant mortality rates which was as a result of reduced mortality because of infectious diseases and immunization.
