You will also see some information regarding the final project, which will be due in week 8. However, there are components of that project that will be due in weeks 2 and 5 as well. Please be sure to read those instructions thoroughly.

Assignment 1.1 – Case Study: A Remarkable Turnaround
Review the following case study activity. (Case Study can also be found on page 33 of your textbook)
A Remarkable Turnaround
Review the case study “A Remarkable Turnaround” found in Chapter 2 of the textbook, under “Media and Library” link. In a 1-2 page paper, answer the following questions based on the case study. Be sure to include supporting evidence from your textbook and/or other scholarly research within your response.
How would you describe Carol’s leadership traits?
How big a part did Carol’s traits play in the expansion of the company?
Would Carol be a leader in other business contexts?
Assignment 1.2 – Leadership Training
Referring back to the previous case study, Carol has decided to become a leadership trainer. Based on your understanding of the Big Five (5-Factor Personality Model & Leadership):
Create a 1-page outline covering the major components Carol should include in this training session.
Write a 1 page summary of your training and justification for the identified outline. Be sure to include supporting evidence from your textbook and/or other scholarly research within your response.
Reflection 1.1 – Leadership Traits Questionnaire (LTQ)
The purpose of this questionnaire is to measure personal characteristics of leadership. The questionnaire should be completed by the leader (you) and five people who are familiar with you as a leader.
Make five copies of this questionnaire. This questionnaire should be completed by you and five people who have worked with you under your role as a leader (Managers, employees, coworkers, etc.). Using the scale on the questionnaire, have each individual indicate the degree to which he or she agrees or disagrees with each of the 14 statements below. Do not forget to complete one for yourself.
After completing this exercise, reflect upon the overall results. There are no best ratings on this questionnaire. The purpose of the instrument is to give you a way to assess your strengths and weaknesses and to evaluate areas where your perceptions are congruent with those of others and where there are discrepancies.
In a 1 page reflection paper, share your results and reflect upon your findings.
