The Motorola Deal
Motorola was the biggest of Google’s acquisitions. Despite the fact that Motorola has continued to flow in money, Google has agreed to sell it to a Lenovo-Chinese company for $2.91 billion which is less than the $12.5 billion that Google paid for it. Google has used this as a patent to defend itself in the mobile wars. It plans own both software and hard ware in order to directly compete with Apple through reinventing the new Motorola phone into mobile hardware.
Goggles business does not solely benefit from selling phones but also from the ads in the phones. Google will however retain the patents it acquired from Motorola’s……………..
