The Fixation of Belief
Pierce claims that people are so overconfident about themselves that they do not even consider studying logic as something necessary, I agree with him because not everyone’s way of thinking and solving problems in real life is correct. People tend to believe they are smart when they barely are. He says that every work of science has to be exempted from the basic art of reasoning as it was in the past (p.6), and this is very true since Science is all about experiments and making observation which means the tendency of thinking needs to be put aside first and used after the results are collected.
