The Bully in the Mirror

As children grow, they are able to gain a solid understanding about themselves and at the same time develop abilities that enable them to engage in other activities. Antonio’s case is a good example that shows how development in children brings in new changes to a child, and illustrates how children perceive themselves. The poem “Bully in the Mirror” helps to reveal how socialization agents influences a person’s “Looking Glass Self” and displays how the look glass self impacts “answerability” as well as the desire to change. Barrow (2013) adds that when a student has the desire to change from bad to acceptable behaviors, the educators should be willing and ready to support this change.
