This narrative is about the scenario where my team faces a challenge in getting new team members onboarded smoothly into the team projects. To provide a context about how projects are conducted in my client’s organization – the projects follow an agile method, and a team member is assigned to a project immediately on the very first day. The organization has its internal set of technology stacks, which requires it to accommodate a learning curve for the team member joining the team. This is a significant challenge that all new hires experience as they need to hit the ground running when they start on their first day. Not only do they have to start understanding the technology but also get acclimated to the complex data infrastructure and work culture. This is not economical for the new members in a fast-moving information technology industry and increases the probability of pushing wrongful codes into the production environment, leading to severities. This is also a challenge for the leadership team because they need to support these members. Also, experienced members of the team need to allocate time towards training these individuals, which can affect the project lifecycles.
