Hello All,
Systems thinking is particularly useful in addressing complex or wicked problem situations. It expands the range of choices available for solving a problem by broadening our thinking and helping us articulate problems in new and different ways. At the same time, the principles of systems thinking make us aware that there are no perfect solutions (Aventis Learning Group, 2020). The book i chose to use during this course (The Savage Leader) addresses systems thinking by exploring different ways to solve scenarios by constantly asking the question, “why”, so that further understanding and different perspectives can give a person the ability to talk through a situation. As i am reading this book, I feel as though the book was meant for me. Instead of just wondering about the outcome, it focuses more on the process which to me makes better sense on how to become a better leader within any type of organization. The book also explores who is considered a leader and the content within the book mentions that leadership should be everyone’s responsibility, not just individuals who have been assigned the role. The book also highlights that empowering all people flourishes performance level and i strongly believe this is a fact.
