Create a problem-based learning activity.

Produce a 2 column or 2 page newsletter that contains the following:

  • Write a new learning objective or use the one from the Instructional Activity Plan you completed in Week Two.
  • Create a complex, real-world problem based on your objective to be solved by your students or trainees.
  • Develop an essential question that promotes critical thinking.
  • Ensure that the problem forces the learner to probe and use technology to help solve it (the solution becomes the assessment piece of the activity).
  • Create a rubric to measure the learning.

A learning objective refers to a statement that provides a description of what a learner will be in a position to do after learning. Other definitions term a learning objective as a form of contract or agreement between the learners and the teachers detailing what the learners are expected to do after the learning process.
