Noise can be defined as anything that causes the reduction of accuracy or reliability of any communication (Callis, 2003). This then leads to miscommunication. Noise takes place in the encoding stage when the symbols used do not bring out the sources mental acuity. The source’s mental ability as well as their language are the determinants of reduction of noise.
