You can select from Themes, Point of View, Characters, Lessons of the story, Setting, etc. Gather your ideas and begin an outline. Formulate a Thesis sentence that makes a specific point. This is essential. Without a specific point the essay will be a summary. Why is this point important? How does this enhance the story? You will include at least two short quotes from the story(stories) you discuss in the essay. You will use a signal phrase to lead into the quote. A signal phrase states the author’s name and the Title of the work.
