Describe the spatial arrangements in the home of your family of origin

Describe the spatial arrangements in the home of your family of origin.  Identify what types of nonverbal communication are used. Was there a room in which family members interacted a good deal?  How was the furniture arranged in that room? Who had separate space and personal chairs in your family?  What do the nonverbal patterns reflect about your family’s communication style? Your response will need to be between 150 – 200 words.
Here is an example from a previous student…
For example, in my home, we have one big family room with the largest TV in the house in it. In the room are a large leather couch, recliner, rocking chair, and coffee table. As a family when we want to get together to watch a movie there are certain places in the room where people always sit.  My husband sits in the recliner, I lay on the couch, and our three children move the coffee table and lay on the rug with pillows and blankets.  This is an example of territorial communication because we know we each have a certain place when watching a movie.  However when guests come into the room, they get their preference of seating first, and we arrange where we sit according to their needs.  Nonverbally this indicates our territorial space is important to us but our guests’ needs are more important than ours because we know it is only temporary.
