Occasionally, truly iconic figures from literature can give their names to words in our language that have meaning rooted in the text, but still exist outside it. We can use an example from a selection we read in the last unit: The Odyssey. The word Odyssey means a “long wandering and eventful journey” (http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=odyssey), but this word comes from the name of the protagonist, Odysseus.
Similarly, Don Quixote gave his name to a unique vocabulary word: Quixotic. For your Apply, look up two definitions of quixotic. Then, write a 100-200 word response, describing how Don Quixote was quixotic, and how this word manages to be an adjective that can stand on its own separate from this text.
