I agree that role playing skills teach you to actually listen in depth what a person is feeling. Ita funny because I find mindself more quiet and Observant when I speak with others now. Active listening has allowed me to try and understand what a person is going through. I never approached others lately as a therapist but it did allow me to take a step back and actually read what the person is saying as they speak with me.
