Rhetorical (or textual) analysis is an essential skill for producing quality academic writing, and good textual analysis stems from engaged critical reading and an understanding of rhetorical appeals and strategies, skills that help you grasp the main ideas in a work, but also help you assess its argument.
This project requires you to draw upon many of the skills we will cover in this course: critical reading, critical thinking, rhetorical analysis, summary, paraphrase, quote integration, and thesis formation. Since this version of Advanced Composition is intended for business majors, the format you’ll use for this project will be a formal business letter.
