1.A few weeks ago, we discussed different types of restaurants. I want you to select your favorite franchised restaurant and determine what would be required of you to open your own restaurant location of that franchise. Often restaurants will not openly list all requirements (financial or otherwise) of new franchise owners so you may need to make a phone call to obtain the information. Please detail as much information as you can and provide citations to show ownership of the information.

Compare the requirements of the restaurant you selected to your classmates. Which restaurant franchise do you think is the most lucrative investment? Would you consider opening your own restaurant franchise someday after reading the requirements of owners?

2. The chapter on F&B states that all personnel in the hotel are required to have training on the responsible service of alcoholic beverages. Why is this necessary? How would you explain the need for this training to a new room service attendant, front-desk clerk, and maintenance department employee? How would you incorporate this training into the new employee orientation of each department?
