There are several ways to gather information in research
Assignment Details: There are several ways to gather information in research; the two main types are quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative is more data driven using the manipulation of variables to prove or disprove a hypothesis while qualitative works more on the abstract examining concepts and phenomenon. The interview is probably one of the more common ways to gather information in a qualitative fashion. It is not the simplest; it does take the right kind of question asked in the right way to get the quality information.
For this assignment, you will develop five questions to assess an issue (you can choose an issue) related to the psychology of religion. The type of questions should be worded in such a way that it doesn’t skew a bias or perspective. It should be worded in a neutral fashion. The type of question should also not be too personal. Remember, discussing religion, faith, and spirituality is often very personal. Design your questions on a specific topic that will advance your own knowledge on the psychology of religion.
For each question also create a set of criteria using a Likert scale. The criterion is much like you would see in a common survey asking about how well you liked a food item; the value 1 indicates “not at all” and the value 5 indicates that it was the best.
After you have designed your short set of questions find three to five people (friends or family will do) to answer the questions.
