Introduction
After the Sino-Japanese war, the Japanese army moved to Nanjing a town in China which was referred to as Nanking. On 13th December 1937, the Japanese troops arrived in Nanking. They massacred the Chinese troops and other civilians and this massacre is what is referred to as the Rape of Nanking. Although they are no exact numbers, it is estimated that close to 300,000 civilians out of the 600,000 population of people were killed in contests between the Japanese soldiers, burnt alive and some were even buried alive.
