Compare and contrast the major differences between the two methodologies. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of qualitative research. In finding articles for your dissertation, does your field tend to conduct more quantitative or qualitative research? Why is it important to have more than one kind of methodology available to conduct research?

Although, passion for the project is important to the impetus of the discovery process, ultimately a dissertation topic must emerge from problem spaces that exist in an empirical research literature. Why do you think this is the case? How does the reliance on literature serve the needs of a researcher and the research project?
