If I were to be promoted to a higher position in the company, I would make sure that whoever takes my previous job will do much better than I did. To properly assess their capabilities, I will be asking them three experience-based situational interview questions.

My first question would be, \”Tell me about your biggest achievement at work. How did you reach it?\”. Their answers to this question would enlighten me about their process. I would be able to visualize how they begin a project, how they handle drawbacks, and how they manage their time. From there, I can assess whether they are the perfect candidate to handle the pressure on the job.

My second question would be, \”What would you do if a dissatisfied customer confronted you? How would you resolve the problem?\” This question will show how they address conflicts at work. It is vital to practice professionalism at all times. However, there will be situations that will test their temper. It will show how well they\’ll maintain their composure in difficult situations.

On to my third question, \”What would you do if you were to take responsibility for something you\’ve never done before?\” How they answer the question will tell me about how well they transition to a new set of duties and responsibilities. It will also show how well they adjust and learn. Not only that, but it will also shed light on what steps they\’re going to take to perform their job well.

Experience-based situational interview questions will give me a better grasp of the candidate\’s attitude towards work. From there, I can weigh the pros and cons and make an informed decision in choosing the most suitable candidate.

If I received a promotion and had to interview candidates that were going to take my previous role/position, the three experienced-based situational interview questions that I would ask each candidate would be:

1) Tell me about a long-running project you handled and how you managed your time to meet your deadlines?

2) Describe a time when you had too many \’to do\’ items on your list and how did you solve the problem?

3) What is your biggest weakness and how would you improve that weakness?

1) I would ask my first question because when you work in clinical trials you might have studies that are ongoing or long-running. This question would help me find out if the candidate has experienced working long-running projects and whether or not they are able to meet deadlines in a fashionable time period.

2) I would ask my second questions because sometimes your to-do list can become long and overwhelming and this question will help me find out if the candidate has experience with prioritizing tasks and if they have experience coming up with solutions on their own, to get their work done.

3) I would ask my third question to find out what weaknesses the candidate has and if they plan on improving that weakness, if thy get this job.Website: https://zety.com/blog/situational-interview-questions
