A project is a temporary endeavor to create something or that has an end goal

A project is a temporary endeavor to create something or that has an end goal (PMI, 2017). Project management is working towards a specific outcome.

The goals of the project are to deliver goods and to provide storage for Walmart in New Zealand. The beginning of the project is to streamline operations and to fix problems that need to resolved. The middle of the project includes advertising the benefits of the business to Walmart and showing Walmart by providing existing customers and new customers excellent service. Establishing the business as a company to want to hire is also included. The end of the project is acquiring Walmart’s business and providing them excellent service. Corporate responsibility will be a part of project in the use of solar power and alternative fuel vehicles. Using sustainable options instead of quick fixes or disposable options. The goal is to be in business long-term. Being eco-conscious is usually a lower cost option as well. Lowering costs passes the price reductions to Walmart and others which in turn lowers Walmart’s costs which leads to lower costs for its customers. Establishing the business as efficient and competent even if it means taking more time to do so is the sustainable option. It may take longer, but the rewards are greater. Having employees stay long-term means making an environment that keeps them happy.  This is sustainable and responsible. Dealing with staffing issues instead of continuing with a system that allows for high employee turnover will create an environment in which people are willing to stay long-term. Using sustainable methods over temporary fixes shows a commitment to being in business long-term as well as being reliable. The service provided needs reliability in order for it to be successful. Companies as large as Walmart can easily choose to use another company for the services offered. Having systems in place and policies that are conducive to providing structure and dependability is key to success.
