Adult educators and trainers create and deliver presentations for a variety of purposes, such as instruction, Professional development, and trainings. Depending on an organization’s needs, the presentations may be delivered in person, online (asynchronously or synchronously), or through some combination of these options. Therefore, being able to develop high-quality, engaging, professional presentations that meet an audience’s needs is an extremely valuable skill.

Consider what you learned this week about creating presentations, including audience needs, slide formats and content, using visuals, and design elements, such as color, backgrounds, font type, and font size. In this assignment, you will demonstrate your communication and presentation skills in a professional setting.

Choose from the following deliverable options to complete this assignment:

  • Self-recorded video or audio presentation (based on a minimum 525-word transcript)
  • 6- to 8-slide presentation with recorded narration of speaker notes (minimum of 50-words per slide)

  • Peer reviewer feedback that you received when you participated in the Wk 4 Collaborative Group Activity: Brainstorming Worksheet

Part 1: Presentation

For your presentation, complete the following:

  • Describe the industry you selected, including why you chose it.
  • Explain your knowledge of the industry, including how long you’ve been involved and in what capacity.
  • Describe any certifications or licenses, degrees held, or specific expertise you have related to the industry.
  • Explain the current challenges and trends in the industry, including how the challenges are being addressed.
  • Describe a recent news item, big announcement, or interesting story related to the industry, including how it was influential.
  • Cite 2–3 reputable industry sources that support, govern, or relate to the industry.
  • Include visuals to support the presentation content.

Part 2: Handout

Create a minimum 525-word handout for the audience that supports the points you’ve made in your presentation. The handout may include items such as:

  • Charts, tables, graphics
  • Links to industry-related resources
  • Industry-specific trade publications
  • Industry-specific organizations and links to their resources

Cite all sources according to APA guidelines, including a properly formatted reference slide in the presentation.

Submit your chosen deliverable and the handout for your assignment.
