Paper details: | John Hanson is a caseworker in a mentl health institution. One of his clients is Aidan. Aidan, age 20, has been living in the residential mental health institution for the past five years. He was born with severe mental restrictions and needs to live under the guidance and care of the medical staff. Lately, Aidan has been complaining that he hasn’t received his weekly time the physical therapist. (Hanson knows that physical therapy is the highlight of Aidan’s week.) Hanson looks into the situation and finds out that, indeed, Aidan’s physical therapy time has been cut by 15 minutes per session. Hanson reports this incident to his supervisor and the board of trustees.

In this case, John Hanson is doing a public duty as he is attending to Aidan, who is a patient to the institution that he works for. As it stands, it is Aidan’s right to receive the medical care that he is entitled to. Reducing his therapy time is illegal and harmful to him. As a result of this, staff members of institution should ensure that he receives his therapy within the stipulated time. In this case, Hanson is therefore performing a public duty of ensuring that the patients admitted to the institution receive the medical care they are prescribed to. If Hanson had sacrificed his own time in order to serve Aidan, then he would be doing……………….
