so the term itself although we use it for the sake of convenience to cover as you said a movement that came after modernism/ the term itself has a certain kind of ambiguity  it suggests both the idea of continuity with what came before because we have made it necessary to keep the word modernity  we suggesting that  there is in a  way some sort of continuity

Post modernism is something that grows out of modernism that something goes beyond modernism something that is going to modify the way we look at modernism
