About 16% of older persons living outside of residential care consume fewer than 1000 Kcal/day which is insufficient for adequate nutrition. At the same time, obesity is a rising concern. Physical activity aimed at building or maintaining muscle mass, improving balance, and increasing calorie needs (aerobic expenditure) can permit greater calorie intake with less weight gain.

Based on scientific research, it is has been noted that older people who outside residential area do not consume adequate nutrition. In that case, old people are at a greater risk or vulnerable to malnutrition. In order for older people to stay healthy in the society, their health has to be well defined. It is evident that as people become older, their basal metabolic rate and lean body mass decline with age. Physical activity is one of the major factors that can ensure old people stay active and maintain their muscle mass……………
