PHI 103 Informal logic – Week 4 Journal

Week Four Journal. Due by Day 7. Reflect back on your completion of the assignment for Week Three. Based on what you have learned in the third and fourth weeks of the course, do you feel that you could improve your argument or the counterargument and objection you presented to it? Have you chosen the most effective type of argument for your position? Having considered a strong objection, are you still persuaded that your conclusion is correct? If so, why were you not persuaded by the objection or counterargument? How might you respond to someone raising the objection in a way that is productive rather than combative? If you are not still convinced that your conclusion is correct, how has considering an objection helped clarify your perspective? What would you recommend that people add, considering this issue, to be fair to both sides? Your journal entry must be at least 250 words. You do not need to follow APA style for this journal entry, but you should proofread your work to eliminate errors of grammar and spelling. You do not need to explicitly answer every question from the prompt, but it should be clear that your entry is informed by considering these and similar questions.

Based on what I have learned during week 4 of my course, I believe that my argument and counter argument are correct. I chose correct premises that agree with my conclusion and thus I do not see the need to change anything. The type of argument I have chosen for my position is correct and the right one to use in the situation. My conclusion is also on point. The flow work of my week 3 paper is on point and that is why am not persuaded to change anything. My choice of argument and counter argument as presented below is correct.
