“The Pearl,” by John Steinbeck is the tale of an Indian couple that is poor who frequently find a pearl of immense value. A pearl is usually a hard object that is produced within the soft tissue of a mollusk that is living and shielded. The two characters involved in this story are Kino and his wife Juana who live in a small hut with their young toddler Coyotito. When “The Pearl” begins, John Steinbeck sideshows Kino and his family living a peaceful life with birds singing, with a calm environment for the entire family.
