Some of its top executives believe the company needs a divisional by product type structure, and other believe the firm needs a divisional by geographic type structure. Hershey makes such well-known chocolate and candy brands as Hershey’s Kisses, Reese’s peanut butter cups, Twizzlers licorice, mounds, and York Peppermint Patty. Hershey also makes grocery goods such as baking chocolate, ice cream toppings, chocolate syrup, cocoa mix, cookies, snack nuts, hard candies, and lollipops. Its products are sold throughout North America and exported overseas.

Step 2 – Review some information about Hershey on the Internet. Decide whether you believe Hershey would benefit most from a divisional-by-product or a divisional-by geographic region design.
