Assume that you are in a large, urban school district that has several challenges facing it. You are on a committee of ten (10) people, including administrators, teachers, and concerned community members. The district superintendent has asked the committee to develop a report in which each issue is addressed with proposed solutions. The committee has decided to have each person select one (1) major problem to address and develop a report that the committee will review and compile into a comprehensive report. You must select one (1) issue to address from the following list. Write a seven to eight (7-8) page paper in which you:

1. Describe the scope of the problem as it relates to your school district and state: (a) compare the district and state’s statistics national statistics; (b) use statistics and examples to support this description.

2. Analyze at least three (3) causes for or underlying issues contributing to the problem.

3. Recommend at least two (2) approaches or alternatives to solve the problem, providing a rationale to support your recommendation. (You may use theories, examples from other schools or school districts, expert opinion, research studies, and your own experiences.)

4. Recommend at least two (2) ways technology could be used assist in addressing this problem, providing a rationale to support your proposal.

5. Recommend at least two (2) ways to fund your recommendations, providing a rationale for your recommendations. (You may use examples from other schools or school districts, expert opinion, research studies, and your own experiences.)

6. Support your views with at least four (4) relevant academic sources. Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

•Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

•Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date.
