Please follow the following grading criteria.
Grading Criteria
Papers will be assessed according to three main criteria: argument, analysis, and presentation.
Argument (40 pts)
Argument covers the clarity and insightfulness of your thesis and your thesis’ articulation in individual paragraphs. The thesis should be easy to locate and propose an arguable claim that’s clearly articulated.
Analysis (40 pts)
Analysis covers the work you do with the text. Your body paragraphs should clearly offer observations about the text tied into clear and thorough interpretations of those observations. These ideas should be tied with other things you’re bringing up and should help to develop and complicate individual observations made about the text’s subject matter.
Presentation (20 pts)
Presentation covers the written execution of your paper and use of formatting. Paper formatting should follow MLA’s standard formatting, both for basic page format and for, if necessary, the paper’s works cited page. Papers should read easily with a minimum of spelling, punctuation, and usage errors. Papers should conform, at least, to the ten items listed in the Revision Tips document available on Canvas.
