Kinematic and EMG analysis of horizontal bimanual climbing in humans

*Article attached below*
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to primarily expose you to a published peer-reviewed paper in the field of biomechanics. Through this exposure you would, hopefully, be able to see the rigors of scientific research and gain an experience in summarizing the contents of an article.
Task:
1. Read the article posted on Canvas entitled: “Kinematic and EMG analysis of horizontal bimanual climbing in humans”.
2. Following the rubric, summarize the contents of each section of the article:
Introduction – Background: completely cover the justification and motivations behind the study. Mention how the previous studies covered in the paper ultimately lead towards the article that you are reading.
Introduction – Purpose/Research Question: Completely cover the purpose of the study. This is typically found in the last paragraph of the introduction.
Introduction – Hypothesis: Completely cover the hypotheses stated by the authors. Similar to the purpose, this is typically found in the last paragraph of the introduction.
Methods – Participants: I expect to see a summary of the demographics of the participants. This includes the number of people who participated, their gender/sex, average numbers (age, height, weight, etc.), and the inclusion/exclusion criteria.
Methods – Experimental Design: Primarily cover two things in the summary for this section: (1) the experimental procedure from start to finish and (2) the instruments that they used to collect the data
Results: Provide a brief summary of the results that they found. DO NOT talk about the discussions or why they believe they found the results at this point, that is reserved for the next section. Focus on the numbers: what was the joint angles produced, what are the muscle activity data?
Discussion – Interpretation: In this section, summarize the explanation that they provide in their discussion session as to why they believe they found the results.
Discussion – Limitations: Completely cover all limitations that they believe affected their study. This is typically found in the second to the last paragraph of the discussion section.
Conclusion: Provide a summary of their conclusions. This is typically found at the end of the discussion section of the article.
3. Rubric can be found in the submission link on Canvas.
