Since that time she has had six epidural steroid injections to help control the pain. Her last epidural injection was 1 month ago. She rates her pain a 9 on the 1-10 scale. Her BP is 180/90, heart rate is 90, and her respirations are 20 and shallow. She is crying intermittently and is restless in bed. Her current medications are:
Regular insulin per sliding scale and Hydrocodone-APA10-325 (Norco) 1-2 tabs every 4 hours as needed for pain.
She has requested the pain medication every 4 hours since she was admitted to your unit. She has been given 2 tabs each time. Her last dose was 3 hours ago.
