Assignment: The Four Major Legal Traditions The new President, now
well versed in the various types of transnational crime, realizes that
he will need the cooperation and collaboration of many other countries
to implement any proposed strategy to combat transnational crime.
Therefore, the President needs council on the various legal systems
and traditions used worldwide. He knows that there are four major
legal traditions but know only about the Common Law tradition. He does
not know how common law compares to other systems of law. You have
advised him that you have a friend who teaches at Harvard University,
School of International Relations, who can now brief the President on
these major legal traditions. You are the Harvard professor and must
prepare a 10-slide PowerPoint presentation that explains the four
major legal traditions. In the presentation, you must include the
primary sources for each of the four traditions as well as the
similarities and differences in substantive law and procedural law in
each of the four traditions. You may consult the internet, the
textbook, and other course material, and any other outside resources
