As you begin your project, you will need to identify a specific leadership role you strive for (e.g., business owner, HR Manager, IT Team Leader, Marketing Manager, etc.). Keep this specific leadership role in mind throughout every project section.

To begin your project, you will first need to conduct a little research. Find at least 3 scholarly journal articles on the topic of leadership, leadership theory, or leadership traits and behaviors. Based on your research, write a minimum 2 page paper and include the following:

  • How do you define leadership; what does leadership mean to you?
  • Describe what you would expect of yourself as a leader.
  • Based on your research, what skills, traits, and behaviors do you feel are most important for a leader to possess and how do they positively impact the organization?
  • What do you see yourself contributing as a leader and how do you intend to make a positive impact on your employees and the organization?
  • Remember to locate at least 3 scholarly journal articles. Integrate the sources into your paper by using in-text citations for quotations and paraphrasing. Include an APA formatted reference page and title page.

Your submitted assignment should be 4-6 pages and include correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Be sure to cite your sources per APA formatting.

I have always aspired to be a human resource manager. To many, leadership involves getting people to follow one’s school of thought. The influence to have followers work together under the human resource manager makes many wish to have so much control over running of activities in organizations. In so much as that is the case, a leader should also be able to inspire. Inspiring the followers to do the leaders bidding without necessarily having to lay down the framework on how to achieve said results contributes to a leader’s charisma. Such means that the followers understand the goals the leader sets and, therefore, would effectively work towards them even in the leader’s absence. A leader, therefore, should be able to sell his or her policies too the followers. Without such, it would be difficult to lead as the followers would need the presence and guidance of the leader every step of the process.
