School leaders should collaborate with all faculty and staff regardless of their educational experience.
School leaders should collaborate with all faculty and staff regardless of their educational experience. Support staff in schools carry out a variety of tasks to maintain school facilities, providing support and a variety of services that help support the school and the students. The contribution of support staff is a critical element to the school\’s overall success. Collaborative leadership allows school leaders to draw on the knowledge and expertise of all staff members (Lee & Louis, 2019). By engaging and collective leadership with staff support, school leaders demonstrate their appreciation for their contributions, build trust and allow for a positive school climate. Collaborative leaders identify areas of improvement, create strategies to overcome challenges and implement solutions to benefit the entire school community.
Leaders foster teamwork and collaboration by engaging in collaborative leadership with support staff, improving school climate, job satisfaction, and better student outcomes (Hajisoteriou et al., 2017). This approach encourages ongoing professional development for all staff members regardless of their educational background or expertise. Engaging in collaborative leadership with all staff is reasonable and appropriate but essential to creating a positive school culture that promotes student success.
