This is the assignment please follow the instructions. You must write a paper closing out my “Intranet Website Design Project”. Please use these references and if by chance you use any others please cite your sources.
“Project Closure Checklist”
(You are coming to the end of this course and the “closeout” of your project. Your assignment is to create a closeout checklist for your specific project. Use Microsoft Word to create your checklist, and make sure to include details on what steps you need to take to closeout your project and your communication method(s) in doing so. In addition include what, if anything could have been done differently to improve your project performance. Remember that each project you manage will be unique, but by creating a checklist for this project, you will have a model to use for future projects. The checklist and your written summary should be a least one page long.)

Intranet Website Design Project
I have worked in the construction industry for over fifteen years as a project manager for the installation of Fire Protection. I started out doing a five year apprenticeship program and obtaining several certifications during this time period. During this period it was all hands on, I started the process from the ground up and I have worked in every aspect of the fire protection industry including the service side. After several years of mastering the service side I decided that it is time for me to start my own consulting business. I have been consulting for several companies and now I have taken on the project of developing my own website. I have worked for several local fire protection contractors and now I am looking to expand my consulting business. With the development of my website it will allow potential customers to become acquainted with my services and to review the references that will be provided.
Retaining project management technologies reduces the interruption of mundane business activities in many cases by placing under a single command all of the skills, technologies, and resources needed to bring a project to life. The expertise required solely depends on each specific project and the resources that can be utilized at that time. Project failure is imminent if the parent organization has to make considerable adjustments when fulfilling project requirements. The form of project management is distinctive according to the project and change will take place throughout the entire project process. Every project should utilize these four particular techniques structured to fit the environment and life cycle from the conception of the project to its completion. The four key steps that will help you achieve the overall success to your project are as follows: Initiating the project, planning the project, executing the project, and closing down the project (Horine, 2009).
The strategic planning of this process will utilize several different aspects that will ultimately result in the overall success of my project. Setting goals and developing a scope, selecting the life cycle, set org./team form selection, determine the risk involved, create a WBS, Identify the necessary tasks, evaluate the size of the project, guesstimate the effort, recognize task needs, allocate risks, and schedule the necessary tasks (Horine, 2009).
The five key topics that I would use as my criteria for prioritizing my project and weighting each category are as follows: Concept 25%, Web Site Design 20%, Web Site Development 15%, Roll Out 20%, and Support 20%. And the two financial criteria’s I would utilize to evaluate the components of my projects are as follows: Return on Investment (ROI) Income divided by investment. ROI = (the total discounted benefit- total discounted cost). As a company I am seeking to take on projects that will ultimately produce a higher return on my investment. Another important financial consideration is payback analysis. The “payback period” is the amount of time it will take to recoup, in the form of net cash inflows, the net dollars invested in a project. With this particular project I will utilize the payback method. I am looking to recoup my investment within a five year time frame if not sooner. Another financial criterion is the net present value model that may be utilized when seeking the minimum rate of return to compute the present value of all net cash received. When calculated and all requirements are met and the results are positive, the project will be eligible for consideration. Unfortunately if the results are negative then there is no need to pursue that particular project. Therefore all projects that have a higher positive NPV rating are decisive and acknowledged (Larson, & Gray, 2011).

Unit ll
Objective of the project
The objective of this project is to create a website aimed at providing construction services to clients. Through the website, clients will be in a position to get acquainted with the consultative services provided by the owner of the website. This will enable the business to earn extra revenue. This will in turn enable the business to earn more profit (Horine, 2009).
Constraints to the project
The creation of this website faces several constraints which might hinder it from taking place effectively. One constraint faced by this project is financial constraints. For this project to go, its net present value must be positive. As a result of this, the project cannot go on if the net present value is negative. The other financial constraint to this project is the payback period. If this period is long, for instance over 10 years the project cannot proceed. However, if it is short such as 3 years; the project will take place (Horine, 2009).
The other constraint associated with project is related to the resources needed to create the website. In most cases, the builders of the new website are unable to clearly define the materials needed to create the website. This is because of the owners of the website inability to know how they want the finished site to look like. This makes it hard for the people building it to know the materials needed to construct the new site.
The budget of the project
The cost of creating a website is incurred on the domain name and the host. The domain name is paid annually at around $13.99. The web hosting fee on the other hand is paid monthly at $3.99.
The schedule of the project
There are certain steps that are followed while creating a new website. The first schedule in this project will be to come up with a place where to host the website. This is likely to take around 1 week since the company needs to select an effective host. The other schedule is coming up with a domain name. This will take around 1 week since the name is supposed to resemble the type of services offered by the website. The other important schedule in creating a new website is building the website one page after another. Since this is the most important schedule, it should take around two weeks since the person building the website must ensure that the website contains the features wanted by the owner of the website. The final schedule is publishing and promoting the website. This will ensure that many people are aware of the new website and therefore seek consultative services from it (http://allwebcodesign.com).
Matrix style to use in the project
Since the process of creating a new website does not involve a lot of people, a weak matrix is the appropriate matrix method to use. This is because it will give the person creating the website ability to create a good site since he or she will not be under much supervision of the project manager. The freedom granted to him will enable him to incorporate important aspects of sites not highlighted by the owner (Larsson & Gray, 2011).
Type of communication to use in the project
Instant messaging is the best communication method to use while creating a website. This is because the person creating the site is able to enquire anything related to the site and receive the response immediately. This reduces the chance of making errors in the course of the project (Horine, 2009).

………………Answer Preview………………..
As initially planned, I have started my own consulting company. This was accompanied by the website where clients could contact my consulting firm on a better and efficient platform. The website construction however took much longer than it was initially planned for. Since the website included both a user interface where clients would interact with it as well as a back end platform which played the role of the engine for the whole system, I spent more time looking for a qualified and experienced web design and developing company. In the process, I also learnt that it was a bit costly to hire such professionals…..
