Birth mothers are driven to the agency to consult about the adoption process, for several different reasons such as feeling as though they cannot parent their child. These mothers often struggle with providing adequate housing, food, and medical for their children. In the event a birth mother comes into the agency, as a practitioner I would first intervene by interviewing to find out what the mother is in need of, assist the client with resources that are available at the agency, and finally assist the mother with resources necessary that are not offered at the agency. If the birth mother wants to pursue adoption for her children I would assist her through the process. However, if the birth mother still wants assistance meeting her needs, we would continue to work on those things as well. My ultimate goal would be to assist the client with their basic needs first to help create stability. According to the text, social problems can be addressed in many different ways depending on perspective of the individual, no one perspective on why social problems exist and what should be done about them is always adequate, totally accurate, or complete (Garthwait, 2017). By doing this, the agency is addressing several social problems and the first being homelessness and the second being child abandonment. The agency is assisting the birth mother with locating a safe place for her children to be cared for appropriately and assisting with housing to avoid the mother not having inadequate housing after the adoption has been completed.2.    Joan_Ewane  An explanation of how you have addressed intervention or how you might address intervention during your field education experience Intervention is the third phase of the change process of Generalist Intervention Model (GIM) where plans are implemented (Kirst-Ashman & Hull 2019). Interventions allow social workers to examine the differences between the assessment and theory in practice. During intervention It is a joint effort between the social worker and the client. Social workers offer intervention to individuals, families, and group, which empower them to address their needs and issues. The primary reason for these interventions is to help clients in alleviating problems and improving their prosperity. According to Laureate Education (2013),interventions are a chance to offer social workers an opportunity to look at the relatedness between them and assessments, and through this examination, social workers can provide solutions to social problems. In my agency, the way in which I address interventions is to learn what the agency preferred. According to Garthwait, (2017), it is important to consider the following questions during the process: What social problem is addressed by your agency? How do your agency mission and programs address the social problem? How is this social problem related to other social problems?  How is this social problem defined and understood? I have addressed interventions with clients in my current agency. Within my agency they mostly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The fundamental guideline of Cognitive behavioral therapy is that our contemplations and sentiments of negative/false belief shape our existence and by changing how we see the world, we can change how we experience it. CBT moves the clients to face that conviction, to attempt to see things in an alternate manner and be increasingly mindful of how things are, as opposed to discernments. We develop our intervention plans on a person-by-person basis. We know that each person is an individual and have different mental disabilities their plans need to reflect this. According to Garthwait, 2017, A social stressor is an event, series of events, or crisis experienced by a vulnerable individual, family, group, or community that moves the social condition to the status of a social problem. Social workers should have a wide variety of interventions to assist in bringing back homeostats to the individuals or family. Depending on the theory used by the social worker will determine the type of intervention used. Sometimes, we use worksheets, to help individual visual a certain intervention, Also the reports they are using are a great tool to utilize when trying to help them change their false beliefs with the help of open ending questions. I also use client strength to encourage them, I take the time to learn about the individual to understand what motivates them. The most important aspect is that I work with my supervisor ands are a client problem with him to know the type of intervention to apply. 3.    John Lawrence An explanation of how you have addressed intervention or how you might address intervention during your field education experience. The Elizabeth Foundation is task-centered in its method of social work (Sutton,2022). We use this task-centered method to address the different social problems of substance use disorder and homelessness within our population (Sutton, 2022). Providing the tools for our clients empowers them to manage their substance use in a hygienic manner while allowing us to foster relationships with our clients to gain trust and connect them with other resources to empower them such as housing, mental health treatment, and substance use treatment (Sutton, 2022). My agency also uses evidence-based practice to give a foundation for the interventions we utilize which gives credibility to the work we conduct (Garthwait, 2017). We seek to define the social problem for other individuals, groups, and agencies to be involved (Garthwait, 2017).This shows how the social problems are negatively impacting the community and what interventions work to address these social problems (Garthwait, 2017).
