Purpose: This assignment will help you summarize a topic, and produce a concise and effective presentation that explains how the topic is relevant to doing research using library databases and/or the Internet.
Skills: This assignment will focus on the skills necessary for selecting and organizing information for relevance and usability.
You will practice:
Reading about research sources and strategies
Navigating the library website to find the topic or library web resource
Identifying which parts of the resource will be the most useful
Creating an effective PowerPoint synopsis. You will need to be selective about the information you summarize from your readings. Remember that your audience will only remember about 10% of what you tell them.
