The readings Grinde and Johansen moreover the Talbot argument is valid to me. I strongly agree that the Iroquois or moreover known as the Haudenosaunee Confederacy influenced the structure and formation of the U.S. democracy. The reason being is that the Iroquois had a system of government made up of five native tribes come together and form the Iroquois Confederacy. Later on, the sixth native tribe was added to the Iroquois nation. The basic principles of them were derived from the U.S government system in the time. An example from the Iroquois is that each tribe had a representative and they all worked together as one. In which it is much like the states of the U.S. being as one nation. This furthermore can be evidence that would prove the Iroquois Influence Theory true and is the reason why I agree.
In addition to the Iroquois Influence Theory, there is more evidence that the U.S basic principle came from them are that the founding fathers admired them and attended there meeting such as Benjamin Franklin, Toms Pain, and Thomas Jefferson. These founding fathers used some of their basic principle in government and applied them to the U.S at the time.
