In surgical patients, how does Chlorhexidine based skin prep compare to Povidone-Betadine skin prep in development of surgical site infection over first 30 days post-operative?
Some ethical considerations are: informed consent, beneficence, doing no harm during research. Other ethical considerations are pediatric patients unable to consent and having parents or guardians make the decision. The same for power of attorney representatives for patients that cannot consent because they are in comas, psych issues- dementia, alzheimers. Trauma patients that have no time to consent.
