Summary
Henry W. Thomas was born one of the Richard Barnes slaves. He was born in 1794 in Leonardtown of Maryland. It was until the death f his boss Richard Barnes that he was sends to Hagerstown Maryland. He served under different men until he was of the age of 22 years. His last master was a staunch religious man that caused him to convert from catholic to protestant 1819 and later received his freedom in the 1821.
