INTRODUCTION
Health disparities are seen in our country lead to the development of preventable disease and premature death. Therefore, it is important to identify the populations that are most vulnerable to health disparities so we can better provide them with an opportunity to move toward improved health, which in turn will help us to control health care costs.
INITIAL POST INSTRUCTIONS
For this discussion, read Chapters 1 and 2 and watch the videos:

Going Sane: The State of Mental Health Care in America (67:00)
Then answer the following questions
Watch “In Sickness and in Wealth” and explain how the level of education and employment impacts access to quality healthcare. Discuss some of the inequalities in healthcare portrayed in the video.
In “Going Sane: The State of Mental Health Care in America” what surprised you about treatment centers and the different types of therapy offered to people with mental illness? Explain the “gap” in mental health treatment? Discuss the role of the family in the treatment of mental health.
