Gun Control
Write a seven-ten (7-10) page research essay (not including your "Works Cited") in which you take a stand on a particular topic that is open to debate (For example: The sky is blue is not a matter of debate. The sky is less blue than it used to be because of climate change is debatable). You present a clear and strong statement usually at the start of your paper that asserts your position on the topic. You then provide strong, logical evidence that supports the validity of your argument throughout your paper. You will need at least six (6) paragraphs to explain your claims. You may include evidence that is counter to your claims in order to further your argument.
For the research portion, you must cite at least seven (7) sources, and a maximum of fourteen (14). Only one (1) of the sources may be a website available on the open Internet (e.g. ESPN.com). However, you may access other sources online, such as articles from the library’s subscription databases (i.e. Academic Search Premier). Please see the information below on "Sources." You will also learn more about database articles during our library research session. While these are available online, they differ from many websites in that the articles they contain are fact-checked and written by experts in their field. You may use general encyclopedias and dictionaries, including Wikipedia, Britannica, and the Oxford English Dictionary. These MUST be cited, but they do NOT count as sources.
Use MLA 8th.
