Government and the Arts
The government’s support for such programs as arts and writing during the Great Depression were important and helped to improve the quality of life of many individuals. Such investments were worthwhile during the hard times as people found a way to earn from their natural talents. The programs also helped to shape the future of arts and writing in the States. Although the projects were largely successful, they were criticized of being extremely left-wing.
